Fishable Days
Use the vessel-specific Fishable Days calendar to compare launch-site scores, forecast windows, and planned trips.
Fishable Days is the web app's forecast calendar for the launch sites returned by the API. It scores each returned day against a selected vessel profile and uses the same GO, CAUTION, and NO-GO statuses as live conditions.
Forecast scores are planning guidance. Forward days use wind and weather forecasts only; they are not a substitute for a final conditions check before launching.
Before you open the calendar
Fishable Days requires a vessel profile. If your account has no vessel, the page shows NO VESSEL PROFILE and links to Settings. Add a profile before trying to score forecast days.
The calendar uses the active vessel from your vessel settings. If no active vessel is selected, it falls back to the default vessel and then the first available profile. The header identifies the selected profile with SCORED FOR YOUR VESSEL.
Saved-site fallback and cap
Fishable Days normally scores your saved launch sites. If the saved-links read fails or the saved set is empty, the API resolves its curated launch sites instead. In that fallback, rows are labeled CURATED, rather than as saved sites. The route caps the resolved site list at 12 sites per response.
Month and week views
Use the MONTH and WEEK controls to change the calendar view. The arrows move the visible month or seven-day range, and selecting a day updates the summary panel.
Month view
Month view gives a daily overview. Each day can show:
- the best available score across the returned launch sites,
- its GO, CAUTION, or NO-GO color,
- a compact wind and rain readout, and
- a marker when you already have a trip planned for that day.
Select a day to see the selected date's best score, status, and the first available best window in the launch site's local time zone. The detail panel also lists every resolved site returned for that date, sorted from the lowest score to the highest score, so you can compare the launch-site candidates behind the daily best.
Week view
Week view is the site-by-site comparison. Rows are the resolved launch sites and columns are the seven days in the visible range. Each cell can show that site's score, a wind/rain readout, and a TRIP tag when the planned trip uses that site on that date. Click a cell to inspect the selected day's detail.
Scores, statuses, and best windows
The calendar uses a lower-is-better risk model. Each launch site/day can have a score, status, source, and dominant signal. When conditions are available, the detail panel explains the dominant signal and its raw value. A hard vessel limit can veto every available window; the panel shows the veto reason when one is present.
For forecast days, the page labels the result as forecast conditions and calls out that waves, water temperature, and tides are not modeled in that forward result. A missing score is shown as unavailable rather than as a favorable status.
The best-window readout uses the first available solunar window for the selected site and formats it in that site's time zone. If no window data is available, the panel says NO WINDOW DATA.
7-day scoring and the 30-day summary
The calendar has two related surfaces:
- Site-by-site 7-day scoring (Pro): Pro returns seven days. Week view compares every returned day for every resolved launch site, and month view shows the best site for each returned day.
- NEXT 30 DAYS summary: the side panel groups the returned days by GO, CAUTION, and NO-GO and counts only the days in the current response.
The current product returns one day on Free and seven days on Pro. The NEXT 30 DAYS heading is a product label for this summary surface; it does not mean that the API returns 30 site-scored forecast days.
When a Free response is limited to today, the page shows an upgrade prompt for the seven-day forecast window. The prompt explains that Pro scores the next seven days against the selected vessel and uses the same GO, CAUTION, and NO-GO verdicts as live conditions.
Trip tags and planning
Fishable Days loads your trip plans as optional context. A trip marker in Month view or a TRIP badge in Week view means that you already scheduled a plan for that date; it does not change the score. Select a scored day and choose PLAN THIS DAY to open the trip form.
Free and Pro access
Free and Pro share the same vessel-specific scoring model. The difference is the forecast window:
| Plan | Forecast access |
|---|---|
| Free | One returned day (today). |
| Pro | Seven returned days, with week-ahead comparison across resolved sites. |
The Pro upgrade card offers yearly and monthly billing choices. Existing Pro users see billing-portal and invoice controls instead of an upgrade action.
